Get Your Skates On At Brighton’s New Christmas Market
By Jo Reeder 13th Aug 2009
SMB Events Ltd – the organisers of last year’s hugely successful Brighton-based BabyExpo – has joined forces with the team behind Brighton’s leading clothing, accessories and interiors event, The Lanes Market, to launch a brand new Christmas market, to be held at the Brighton Centre on 20th December 2009.
The Brighton Christmas Market will run alongside the popular public ice-skating the weekend before Christmas, offering visitors an enchanting shopping experience to remember. Supported by media partner Heart 102.4 & 103.5, ‘Get Your Skates On’ at the spectacular ice rink has become one of the county’s major seasonal attractions, welcoming thousands of visitors from all over the region who come to skate and spectate.
Shoppers at the exclusive one-day event will be treated to around 40 stalls selling delectable Christmas gifts, delicious festive food and drink, hand-made decorations, homewares, sustainably-sourced Christmas trees and floral decorations. Entry to the Market is free and visitors can also enjoy carol singers, Father Christmas and his elves, onsite family photography, beauty treatments and festive face painting.
‘The Brighton Centre is the perfect venue to hold such an event,’ says Suzanne Borrell of SMB Events. ‘Located right in the heart of the city, stallholders will benefit from the substantial numbers of visitors heading into Brighton at this time. Visitors can look forward to a fabulous shopping experience that will really get them in the mood for Christmas,’ she adds.
Jo Reeder, co-organiser and the face behind The Lanes Market says, ‘I am incredibly excited to be working with SMB Events on The Brighton Christmas Market. Visitors can expect the same high standards they experience at The Lanes Market, with an emphasis on superior quality, locally made products.
‘Not only will you be able to skate, you’ll be able to shop in a lovely environment, grab a last minute gift for someone special and treat yourself to some on the spot beauty treatments ahead of the festive party season. It’s the perfect excuse to start Christmas early.’
