Mobile GPS

Nokia MapsIt’s all a vision for the future, nevertheless! At the recent launch of Nokia’s new navigational tools for mobile phones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, company president and CEO, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, hoped that thanks to the advent of this new generation of digital maps, ‘struggling with oversized paper maps will become a thing of the past.’

We all certainly hope so! Of course the camera around your neck gives the game away, but this adaptation of sat-nav systems for pedestrians with mobiles means that you can wander around an unfamiliar city without the hassle of unfolding a map and conspicuously announcing yourself as a tourist or newcomer to the area. This Nokia Mapsnew mobile phone deal allows individuals to follow real-time walking directions, just like the navigation systems currently enjoyed – or relied upon – by their counterparts in vehicles.

It’s another world first from Nokia, and it’s expected that 35 million handsets with the Global Positioning System or GPS mobile phone offer will sell in 2008.

Imagine that, directing yourself around London, Brighton, Paris or Berlin all with the help of your mobile phone! Want to be a tourist in St. Petersburg or Moscow but can’t read the Cyrillic alphabet? Don’t let it bother you! Never get lost again with Nokia’s Maps 2.0, the latest mobile phone deals for Series 60 and 40 phones. Beijing, New York, Sydney, Athens, Montreal, Helsinki and Rome – why not be a local wherever you are? Just remember… unlike in your car where it “almost” seems acceptable to talk back to your TomTom sat-nav system, perhaps on the street it will illicit some strange looks!
